Ingredients

  • 1 pound bulk Italian sausage
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 jar spaghetti sauce (26 ounces)
  • 1 package uncooked penne pasta (16 ounces)
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened (8 ounces)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Method

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. Add garlic and cook 1 minute longer. Drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 20 minutes.

  2. 2

Cook pasta according to package directions and drain. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream and onions.

  3. 3

In a greased shallow 3-quart baking dish, layer half of the pasta and sausage mixture. Dollop with half the cream cheese mixture and sprinkle with half the cheddar cheese. Repeat layers.

  4. 4

Bake, uncovered, until bubbly, 30-35 minutes.
