How to save a recipe from Instagram
Instagram's own Save button keeps the post, not the recipe. Forkato turns it into ingredients and steps you can cook from, shop for and find again.
No account needed to see the recipe. Make a free one to keep it.
Step by step
- 1Open the post or ReelIn the Instagram app or on instagram.com.
- 2Copy the linkTap the share icon (the paper plane) and choose Copy link, or use the three-dot menu.
- 3Paste it into ForkatoIf Instagram will not let Forkato read it, use the screenshot route below. It always works.
What Forkato reads
- The caption, where most creators write the recipe
- The post's description and title when the caption is not available
What you get
- Ingredients with amounts, and steps in order
- Which ingredients you already have, once you add your pantry
- The missing ones on your shopping list in one tap
- Cook mode with big steps and timers, on your phone or Echo Show
If it does not work
- Instagram blocks the link
- Instagram often refuses automated readers, ours included. Screenshot the caption (or the ingredient card in the post) and save it as a photo, or copy the caption and paste it as text.
- The caption says "recipe in bio"
- Open the link in the creator's profile and paste the recipe page you land on.
- The account is private
- Only public posts can be read. A screenshot works for anything you can see.
Free accounts get 10 saves a month from videos, posts, photos and pasted text. Saves from many recipe websites are free and unlimited.
